When you bite down, your upper and lower teeth

This refers to teeth that are separated because they do not touch.


This is a type of malocclusion commonly seen in young children. When the teeth are in the central biting position, the upper and lower teeth do not touch, leaving a gap between them. Open bite is more often caused by acquired factors, such as habits, than by congenital factors.
